Festival regulations
- The Festiwal shall take place in Katowice and nearby cities. The groups shall arrive according to the schedule given by the Organizers.
- Students’ and youth’s groups ( 18-30 years old ) can participate in the Festiwal; child groups are excluded. The folklore groups shall present artistically prepared programmes based on folklore of region or country of the group’s origin. Presented costumes, songs and dances should be rooted in authentic folklore. Live music only.
- The groups may consist of maximum 30 people, including management. Drivers of the groups’ buses, maximum 2 people, are not included in the above-mentioned number.
- The Festival is organized as a review. The Festival is a member of Polish Section of C.I.O.F.F.
- Each group shall present the following programmes:
- opening concert programme (5 minutes),
- review programme (20 minutes, may be extended to maximum 23 minutes),
- music programme performed by the band and soloists (2-3 minutes; presentation of unique instruments connected with country’s traditions is welcome),
- gala concert programme (6 minutes; this part may include programmes from point a. and b., the concert director shall decide upon this),
- accompanying concerts’ programme (30 minutes),
- folklore programme for outside performance (10 minutes),
- programme for advertising performances during street marches.
- The groups’ presentations shall be discussed by the Festival’s Artistic Council. The Council shall issue a statement on the performance level and artistic expression of presented programmes, especially including the following:
- originality of folklore presentation,
- show arrangement,
- peformance level..
- The participating groups shall receive individual and corporate prizes as well as audience prizes.
- The Organizers shall provide the groups with the following: accomodation, food, medical care, guide/interpreter, information materials. The cost of travel to the border of the Republic of Poland shall be covered by the groups. The Organizers` shall provide petrol for buses for the kilometers actually made during realisation of the Festival’s programme. The ogranizers shall not be liable for any groups’vehicle problems.
- Each group shall present shows according to the Organizers’ wishes, including the shows recorded by radio and television.
- The groups and soloists shall not receive any payment for their participation in the Festival.
- The Organizers shall provide interpreters of English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Russian. English and Polish shall be the Festival’s official languages.
- Accommodation - Student`s Hotel – two bed rooms with bath.
